According to reports, the hotel and conference center was scheduled to open gradually over the next several weeks, but unexpectedly strong advance bookings through fourth quarter 2002 prompted them to rethink plans to bring the property online in phases.
In addition to the 1,000 rooms, suites and club rooms, the property features 75,627 sf of function space and a 41,503-sf ballroom. There is an additional 25,000 sf of outdoor event space. Included among the suites are 10 hospitality, three royal, 36 executive and two presidential suites.
The property also includes six restaurants and lounges, a business center, health club, lagoon pool and children's activity center. The hotel is located at 6300 Hollywood Way at Universal Orlando.
