NORWOOD, MA-Extended Stay America Inc. has its sights set on developing a 122-room Extended StayAmerica at Route 1 South and Nahatan St. at the Route 1 Rotary here. The company is currently going through the development plan review with the town.

According to town planner Stephen Costello, Extended Stay will lease a three-acre site from Crosstown Associates in a location that he calls “the gateway to the town. I’m not surprised they want to build a hotel there.”

Costello tells GlobeSt.com that because of the proposed hotel’s prominent site the town has asked Extended Stay to upgrade the building’s facade to complete brickface and change the signage. “Architecturally, the plan could use some improvements,” he says, “but they’ve been willing to do what we’ve asked them.”
