The 50,000-sf store's lease expired in January. It will close on July 14.

"Last fall when our lease was coming up for renewal, we received a tremendous outpouring of support from the local community to stay in this location," says John Baker, vice president of the Wild Oats Farmers Market Division and Henry's Marketplace. "We are currently looking for a site to relocate this store."

Henry's is making plans to expand its stores in Southern California. The company has begun construction on its new Costa Mesa location and plans to have that store open by the end of this year. The company is also identifying sites for additional stores in San Diego County. The 37 Serra Mesa employees have been offered the opportunity to relocate within the Henry's chain.

Twenty stores operate under the Henry's Marketplace name in Southern California, including San Diego County stores in La Mesa, North Park and Clairemont.
