A $50,000 Rural Business Opportunity Grant went to the Spokane Indian Nation to conduct an economic and environmental study of plans for a business incubator, which it plans to develop.
A $99,467 Rural Business Enterprise Grant was awarded to the Stillaguamish Indian Nation to help expand an existing Native American Indian plant nursery and habitat restoration business.
These two groups were among a selection of 51 grant recipients to receive more than $6.1 million in rural business opportunity grant funds to assist with economic development in rural areas.
