Nicholson Wins 230,000-SF Camberley Scheme

LONDON-Nicholson Estates has been selected as preferred developer for a 230,000-sf mixed-use scheme in Camberley, Surrey. The council has been trying to secure the development of the site for a decade and this is its third attempt.

LONDON-Nicholson Estates has been selected by Surrey Heath Borough Council as its preferred developer for a seven-acre site west of Park Street in Camberley, Surrey. The developer saw off competition from 18 initial bidders and a shortlist of four. The council will be hoping that this is third time lucky, following the collapse of earlier development proposals by Shearwater and THI.

Nicholson Estates’ 231,080 sf proposal includes: 97,880 sf of retail; 38,200 sq od restaurants and bars; a 25,000-sf health & fitness unit; 38,000-sf cinema; 32,000-sf bowling alley and 101 apartments. Aplanning aopplication is expected to be ready by Autumn 2002.
