The Avon Gorge has 76 bedrooms and suites and overlooks the Clifton Suspension Bridge. Planning permission has been granted for a further ten bedrooms and a leisure complex.
The George has 39 bedrooms and is located in the centre of Wallingford, which lies between Oxford and Reading.
Chairman Robert Peel said: "Both hotel complement our existing four owned hotels in Leeds, Newcastle, Bradford and Peterborough." In the year ended 23 December 2001 sales generated by the two hotels were £3.1 million ($4.6 million) and EBITDA was £992,000 ($1.5 million) in aggregate.
