Cancer Charity Buys Midtown Building

LONDON-Cancer Research UK, the charity formed as a result of a merger between the Imperial Cancer Research Fund and the Cancer Research Campaign, has bought a freehold Midtown office building at 42 Kingsway, London WC2.

LONDON-Cancer Research UK–formed last year by the merger of the Imperial Cancer Research Fund and the Cancer Research Campaign–has paid Artesian £5.55 million ($8.5 million) for 42 Kingsway, London WC2. The property is adjacent to Imperial Cancer’s existing headquarters at 61 Lincoln’s Inn Field.

The 11,000-sf building includes a 4,000-sf ground floor A3 unit let to Pitcher & Piano. The additional office space is needed in to house the newly combined cancer research teams. Cancer Research UK is now the largest volunteer-supported cancer research organisation in the world with 3,000 scientists and an annual research budget of more than £130 million ($200 million.
