Represented by Cassidy & Pinkard, King & Spalding renewed its lease on 84,161sf in the 12-story, 30-year-old structure. The law firm also opted to expand its presence on the block by taking on an additional space of nearly 42,000-sf at neighboring 1700 Pennsylvania, which offers 145,000-sf of space over 10 floors. Carr operates the building, constructed in 1966, on behalf of owner Mills Building Association.

The FDIC--which occupies about 600,000 sf in four area buildings, including 1700 Pennsylvania--renewed its 108,500-sf space at 1730 Pennsylvania, where it has had offices for nearly a decade. The government organization's lease was scheduled to expire July 1 of next year. Insignia ESG facilitated the transaction on behalf of the FDIC.
