Charlotte-based Cobblestone Builders is the general contractor for the planned 53,000-sf commercial segment of the property being developed by Charlotte-based Patmar Development.

According to Waxhaw town records, Patmar received zoning approval from town commissioners this May. Charlotte-based New South Properties will market the shopping center's commercial space.

According to published reports, McDonald's Corp. has committed to building a restaurant at the shopping center, and a local supermarket is being sought to anchor the retail segment.

The commercial center of Jackson Station will be the largest retail center in Waxhaw, which lies to the south of Charlotte, giving local-area residents an alternative to shopping in Charlotte.

The Charlotte regional office of Pittsburgh-based Ryan Homes plans 145 townhouses on 18 acres at Jackson Station. Model homes are scheduled to be open in spring 2003.
