Transwestern Gets Contract for 154,000 SF of Class A Space

WASHINGTON, DC-Transwestern Commercial Services has become the new leasing agency for 2001 L Street, a 154,000-sf building located in a well-traveled area of the city’s central business district. A division of Vienna, VA-based Clemente Development Company, the building’s owner, previously handled the leasing activity and will stay on in a property management capacity, assistant property manager Seth Kulla tells GlobeSt.com.

CDC acquired 2001 L Street, which has been given a 2003 proposed value of $39.375 million, for $36.65 million back in 1999. Current occupants of the class A structure include the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, the American Humane Society, and law firms Feldesmen, Tucker, Leifer, Fidell & Bank, and Levine, Blaszak, Block & Boothby. Transwestern has about 25,000 sf of available space to fill at the rate of $34 to $38-per-sf. The building is being marketed to high profile clients who seek the benefits of a location in the District’s “Golden Triangle” section.
