The city will use the funds for diverse economic development programs, including campaigns to attract and retain office tenants to the city's Downtown area. Other projects that will receive funding are the development or expansion of libraries, homeless shelters, day care centers, vocational rehab centers, and recreational facilities.
The grant was announced by US Sen. Rick Santorum, chairman of the Senate Republican Conference.
