Opus West is looking for a vice president of real estate who will oversee the existing Dallas office and satellite offices in Austin and Houston.

Opus South will remain the southeast regional operating company for the Opus Group, with offices in Florida and Georgia.

The companies are affiliates of the Minneapolis-based Opus Group. Company officials say in a prepared statement the transition from Opus South to Opus West will usher in a new leadership team and plans for rapid market expansion in Texas.<P.Opus West plans to pursue an aggressive growth plan for Texas, similar to that implemented when it began operations in Arizona in 1979, and again in 1993 when the organization entered California.

Opus West has five satellite offices in California and about 10 million sf that is completed or now under construction across the state. In all, Opus West has developed 30 million sf of space in Arizona, California, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas and Utah.

Opus West has recently completed or has plans to develop more than one million sf in Texas, with projects valued at $90 million.

Under Opus South Corp., Opus developed 6.5 million sf in Texas, including MacArthur Ridge, a 500,000-sf two-building class A office development located on 21 master-planned acres in Las Colinas.
