CBL Breaks Ground for 130,000-SF of Retail Near Hamilton Place

ATLANTA-The Chattanooga, TN-based developer is adding this fifth center to the area surrounding its flagship, 1.2-million-sf Hamilton Place, opened in 1987. Called the Shoppes at Hamilton Place, it will be anchored by Marshall's, Bed Bath & Beyond and a third retailer.

ATLANTA-Hamilton Place, the 1.2-million-sf shopping center developed in Chattanooga, TN in 1987 by locally based CBL & Associates Properties, will be joined in spring 2003 by an adjacent 130,000-sf retail center, called the Shoppes at Hamilton Place.

The surrounding 13-acre area is also home to CBL Center, the developers’ headquarters. The Shoppes at Hamilton Place will be anchored by Marshall’s, Bed Bath & Beyond and a third retailer that, according to a statement by CBL president Stephen D. Lebovitz, will be announced “shortly, when the lease is fully executed.” In addition to the three anchors, there will be 14,600 sf of specialty shops.

Lebovitz didn’t disclose occupancies, terms and values of the existing leases or the quoted average rent in his prepared statement.
