Sheraton Gets $3M Renovation, Rebranding

AUSTIN-Sheraton owner Thayer Lodging Group will undertake a $3 million renovation to the property, and rename the hotel. The 254-room building is set to reopen as the Crowne Plaza Austin Hotel and Executive Meeting Center on Aug 1.

AUSTIN-The Sheraton Hotel in the CBD is getting a new name and a makeover. Thayer Lodging Group, which has owned the property since 1996, is making it a Crowne Plaza Austin Hotel and Executive Meeting Center, and will open under the new name on Aug 1.

A 12,000-sf executive meeting center is already operating at the hotel. Thayer also is adding a rooftop ballroom and upgrading the hotel’s 254 rooms to add work areas as part of the $3 million renovation.
