45,600-SF Spec Facility Built in Slate Belt

PHILADELPHIA-Three area economic development groups and a private developer join forces to construct and market a spec facility to draw industry and jobs to the Slate Belt Industrial Center in Lehigh Valley, PA near the Green Knight Energy Center.

PHILADELPHIA-Bethlehem, PA-based J.G. Petrucci Co. joins three regional economic development groups in construction of a 45,600-sf spec industrial building, designed to attract industry and jobs to the Pen Argyl school district in Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley. The groups are the Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corp., the Northampton County Industrial Development Authority, and the Green Knight Economic Development Corp. The latter group owns and operates the Green Knight Energy Center, which captures and burns methane gas from the nearby Grand Central landfill and converts it into electricity.

In cooperation with LVEDC, it is donating revenue from the sale of electricity into the project. NCIDA prepared the site for development, and is providing a ground lease for the six-acre parcel located in the Slate Belt Industrial Center. The lot is part of a 20-acre parcel that was donated to NCIDA by Houston-based Waste Management Inc. for use in economic development.
