GlobeSt.com couldn't reach Genesco principals at publication deadline. But according to published reports, construction costs for the new facility were $9 million or about $28 per sf. The center will distribute the company's Journeys brand teen footwear to its 900 retail outlets nationwide.
Other brands supplied by Genesco include Jarman, Journeys Kidz, Underground Station, and Johnston & Murphy shoes. It also manufactures and supplies licensed footwear brands, including Dockers.
When fully operational in the fourth quarter of this year, the distribution center will reportedly employ 120 people. In addition to its Lebanon facilities, Genesco also operates warehouse/distribution centers in Chapel Hill and Fayetteville, TN.
