60,000-SF Cambrex Property to Undergo $5M Expansion

BALTIMORE, MD-East Rutherford, NJ-based diversified life science company Cambrex Corp. has revealed plans to increase the size of its Cambrex Bio Science facility in a $5-million expansion project. The 60,000-sf building will get new development and analytical laboratories, as well as a pre-clinical pilot plant for cell culture product development. Construction is scheduled for completion in the spring of 2003.

“To address the increasing demand for early bioprocess development and pre-clinical services, we expanded our bioprocess development and scale-up services earlier this year,” company chairman and CEO James Mack explains. “We are now building additional facilities to support this growth business. This service, including media optimization, will accelerate our customers’ entry into clinical trials and provide a robust pipeline of new projects for the existing GMP production capacity facilities.”
