Corinthian's seven-year lease takes the building to 83% occupancy, Amy Toups, a director for Prescott Realty Group, tells GlobeSt.com. The post-secondary educational provider will be setting up shop in the former headquarters space for La Madeleine restaurants.
Toups says the competition was stiff for the prospect, which operates 63 colleges in 21 states. She believes Prescott's ground-floor space coupled with its location at a DART station were the deciding factors.
The Staubach Co. of Dallas is as acting a construction manager. The firm's Frank Ricca and Paul Dimeo represented the college in its site search. Barbara Bennett of Dallas-based Trammell Crow Co. brokered the contract for Prescott.
The National Institute of Technology, a Corinthian subsidiary, will operate the campus, initially providing classes for a maximum of 400 students seeking degrees for medical administration and medical assistants. The school also is in the process of opening an Austin campus.
