Gensler has signed a lease for 56,840-sf at Two Harrison St. in Hills Plaza, a national landmark building that was built in 1925 and renovated in 1989. The seven-story mixed-use building includes 180,000-sf of office space and 25,000-sf of retail space. Gensler will occupy the entire fourth floor and half of the third floor. Shorenstein Co owns the property.
Gensler will move from its current home in the Financial District, which is located at 600 California St. to Hills Plaza, which sits on 3.5 acres of waterfront land along the Embarcadero. While the rental rate was not disclosed, the average asking rental rate for this type of space is $32 to $34 per sf.
