RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA-Work will begin on a 420-unit, $40-million luxury apartment community in Rancho Cucamonga sometime this autumn, as the city’s planning commission has given its unanimous approval to Empire Commercial Real Estate, the project’s developer.

Slated to rise on a 30-acre parcel at the southwest corner of Etiwanda Avenue and Miller, the complex will consist of one-, two- and three-story buildings to be built on 15 acres, while the other half of the parcel will be preserved as open space, greenbelt and parks. The gated community will feature modern units wired with high-speed Internet access, as well as live-work lofts.
