The company, which provides custom-made drawers for cabinet, furniture and showcase industry manufacturers, will take 51,203 sf at 1482 Batavia St. The new tenant will move into Unit A of the industrial property in October.

The lessor, Batavia Business Center, was represented by a CB Richard Ellis brokerage team based in Anaheim. The team, which consists of Ian Britton, Brad Bierbaum, Brian DeRevere and Bob Goodmanson, also acted on behalf of Drawer Box Specialties.

The level of leasing activity in the Orange County industrial market is on the rise, as it jumped from 2.9 million sf in the first quarter of this year to 4.1 million sf in the second quarter. However, the second quarter total declined by almost 1 million sf, or 19%, when compared to the second quarter of 2001. Net absorption for the county was 498,497 sf for the second quarter, giving the county a total of 533,558 sf of negative absorption for the first two quarters of 2002.
