NEW YORK CITY-New York City Transit has taken the top three floors of 180 Livingston St., a 270,000-sf downtown Brooklyn building that had been battered and bruised through several incarnations until TreeLine Cos. acquired it last year.

With its 123,900-sf lease, NYCT, an agency of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, will occupy all of the available space left at the property. The 10-year commitment for the building’s fourth, fifth and sixth floors will allow NYCT to consolidate its human resource and other related departments. While details of the lease have not been released, asking rents for fourth-floor space at the property are $22.50 per sf, while fifth and sixth floor asking rents are $24.50 per sf.

The deal completes a leasing period that took a mere nine months to from start to finish. “To go from 100% vacant to 100% leased in a matter of months is an indication not only of just how far the downtown Brooklyn community has come in recent years but also how bright its future is,” says Long Island-based Treeline’s president Fran Schor.
