La Posada will comprise 206 independent living units, 48 assisted living units, a community health center and an Alzheimer's center.

Westport is partnering with Greystone Communities Inc. of Irving, TX, on the planning development and management of La Posada. Rink Reynolds Diamond Fisher Architects, headquartered in Jacksonville, FL, will lead the design team. Perini Building Co. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Perini Corp.

In a prepared statement, John Page, Perini's business development director in Florida, says the architectural design of the community center will have "the look of a well-appointed country club and features an elegant main dining room with an expansive exterior deck overlooking the water."

Page's statement didn't disclose leasing rates or terms.

Sam Sabin, senior vice president, Perini Building, says in the same statement, "Today's active seniors are much more discriminating buyers."

Sabin says, "They have come to expect quality management, construction excellence, and superior services in the communities they select."
