The 3,100-sf prototype store will be located at Northwest 12th Avenue and Lovejoy Street. It will include computer stations with Internet access, a postal center and extended hours, among other things.

The Streetcar Lofts building was developed by Joe Weston. The lease agreement was brokered through Norris, Beggs & Simpson. Architecture and construction is being managed by Thompson, Vaivoda & Associates.

Work on the space will begin immediately. The store will open in early 2003.

Umpqua Bank, headquartered in Roseburg, Ore., is a subsidiary of Portland-based Umpqua Holdings Corp., a publicly traded company. Umpqua has 45 retail banking centers between Ashland and Portland, and along the Oregon coast.
