Retail is also growing. Cambridge Crossings at Maple and Maplelawn nears completion of the shopping district. A new 30,000-sf Marshall's department store is going up just west of the new Wal-Mart. Tenants like Home Depot, Kohl's, Farmer Jack and PetCo have leased all but 7,000-sf of Midtown Square, a 604,000 new shopping area at Maple and Coolidge roads.

Multifamily growth continues with Midtown Square Condominiums, a 20-building development with 285 units, 50% complete. Sandalwood South Condominiums, with 50 attached units, are under construction by MJC Cos. Maya's Meadows Condominiums, a 28-unit attached development, is under construction by E&F Investment Co.

In industrial space, Axel Tech Inc. is building a 20,000-sf manufacturing facility in Troy Place at Coolidge and Big Beaver roads. The cost of the new facility will be $2.37 million, and move in is expected by December.
