The annual award is given to companies that make significant contributions to professional women in the workplace.

Founded in 1932, Graham now employs a 48% female workforce out of a total 700 employees. Carol Wyllie, executive vice president at Graham, accepted the award for the company.

"Providing opportunities for the advancement and creating a corporate environment that stimulates all of our employees was long ago established by the company founder and current chairman, William A. Graham," Wyllie says in a prepared statement.

The Jeanne Bellamy award was named for the chamber's first female chairperson who served a one-year term in 1977.

Graham owns and manages two million sf of office, retail and industrial space in Miami Lakes, including the 300-room, 200-acre Don Shula Hotel & Golf Club.

The chamber's Women in Business Group hosted the Aug. 15 event attended by 250 professionals.
