Universal Wins Disputed Two-Acre Tract

ORLANDO-Orange Circuit Judge Joe Baker has ruled 92-year-old Clarence Moore couldn't back up his claim that his California-based granddaughter forged his name to a property transfer deed in 1987. Universal bought the land in 1993 for $1 million. Its estimated value today is $2 million.

ORLANDO-Universal Orlando today starts planning its $100 million, 70-acre timeshare venture after winning an eight-year court battle with a 92-year-old property owner for a contentious two-acre tract in southwest Orlando, directly across the street from its theme parks.

The two acres on Turkey Lake Road were the missing part of Universal’s originally planned project.

Orange Circuit Judge Joe Baker ruled Thursday Clarence Moore couldn’t back up his claim that his California-based granddaughter forged his name to a property transfer deed in 1987.
