Bernath started in real estate 19 years ago with Century 21 in New York City and from 1984-1989 she served as a salesperson in general real estate.
In 1989, she changed companies to Claudia Homes in Staten Island, NY as well as positions and became sales director.
She moved to South Florida in 1994 and began working the Miami Beach market with Weitzer Home Builders. In June of that year, she started working as sales director in charge of Crescent Heights.
"People need to have tremendous amount of customer service which a lot of communities in South Florida lack," Bernath tells Globest.com. "We're averaging $315 per sf and we feel (there is) a niche of two-bedroom and three-bedroom homes on South Beach that are limited, but people are looking for."
Located at 1330 West Ave., the Waverly is converting to condominiums beginning Labor Day, with prices starting at $250,000. The 399 units are comprised of range in features from one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom units with living areas of 884 sf to 2,801 sf.
Miami-based Karlton Properties and the Athena Group, based in New York City, bought the Waverly from Zom Inc, headquartered in Orlando, on June 28 for $97.2 million or $243,734 per unit.
The 35-story, 399 unit luxury condominium was completed in 2001. The building is occupied with 300 tenants taking up 75% of the units.
