Construction cost is expected to exceed $30 million, or approximately $132 per sf. The property is expected to be competed in January. Terms of the Alcoa lease were not disclosed.
On completion, Rubinoff will relocate its own headquarters to 5,000 sf in the center, now 72% leased. "We expect to achieve 100% occupancy before construction is completed," says John R. Watson, vice president of Rubinoff, in a statement.
The center includes 29,000 sf of retail space on the first floor and has sub-surface parking for 100 vehicles. It is a class-A building, located on the city's North Shore, between the Andy Warhol Museum and PNC Park on the Jackson's Row tract, once occupied by some of the city's pioneer industrialists.
