He will also oversee the firm's acquisition research efforts and represent Wells' investment products at investor and industry meetings.
Henry was formerly a principal at locally based Lend Lease Real Estate Investments and most recently was portfolio manager for two institutional pension funds. Prior to that, he was vice president and an asset manager in Lend Lease's retail group.
In a printed statement, Scott Meadows, senior vice president of asset management at Wells, says the company needed to expand its asset management team because it has added 18 properties to its portfolio this year.
The 18 transactions completed this year total $500 million, and, according to the statement, Wells will close more than $1 billion in transactions this year.
