The auction house has not occupied the vacant 37,000 sf property since January, having consolidated operations into its Rockefeller Center location. "Christie's simply felt the space was underutilized, hence the move out and eventual sale," Knakal tells GlobeSt.com.
Constructed in the 1940s, the building comprises 32,000 sf of above-ground space and a 5,000-sf basement, both of which are column-free structures. RFR Holding's plans for the property have not been undisclosed.
