Judge Dismisses Catskills Casino Complaint

NEW YORK CITY-A lawsuit claiming that Las Vegas' Park Place Entertainment Corp. tried to prevent three developers from building a casino with the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe was thrown out yesterday.

NEW YORK CITY-Las Vegas-based Park Place Entertainment Corp. yesterday won its bid for summary judgment in a lawsuit claiming that the gaming company interfered with competitors’ attempts to develop a casino in the Catskills.

US District Court Judge Colleen McMahon decided to dismiss all claims made by Catskill Development LLC, Monticello Raceway Development Company LLC. and Mohawk Management, LLC. The suit alleged that Park Place attempted to thwart efforts to develop a casino with the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe in the Catskill Mountains. The decision was handed down in White Plains.
