"This is the first lease for the shopping center," Manekin spokesperson Caryn Sagal tells GlobeSt.com. "There will be the grocery store and the rest of the space will be in-line retail." The new store is expected to bring 100 new jobs to the Prince George's County town, which is located at the gateway to Charles County and Waldorf, MD.

In a statement on the deal, Manekin senior vice president Alton D. Fryer says Giant's "commitment to this key location, combined with other service-oriented tenants in the center and Manekin's extensive experience in developing neighborhood centers should ensure the success of the project." The financial terms of the deal are not being disclosed and Phil Ruxton of NAI KLNB Inc., which is handling leasing activity for the property, tells GlobeSt.com that his company is not yet comfortable discussing the range of prices per-sf being charged for space in the new center.
