Crews have been working to complete various infrastructure projects at the 630-acre project.

Access to Talus has been made easy with a number of improvements to SR-900 between Newport Way and the Talus Drive entrance, says David MacDuff, senior project manager. The Talus-financed road project included widening road shoulders; adding street illumination and turn lanes at the Newport Way, Gilman Boulevard and Talus Drive intersections; and installing highway barrier walls, which will be finished next month.

Talus also funded the installation of new sewer and storm lines, water mains and street drainage. In addition, a traffic signal was activated last month at the intersection of SR-900 and Talus Drive to allow better traffic flow along north- and south-bound lanes of the highway, as well as simple ingress and egress to the Talus community.

The northbound lane between Talus Drive and Newport Way will be re-striped soon, transitioning to the second phase of highway improvements expected to begin next spring. That road project will widen SR-900 between Newport Way and I-90, and add another lane for traffic exiting I-90 eastbound at Issaquah. Talus contributed $4.2 million toward phase two improvements, which will be managed by the state Department of Transportation.

Talus recently installed its entry monumentation and directional street signage marking the various single- and multi-family neighborhoods being built at Talus Other on-site improvements include some neighborhood landscaping and illumination.

When complete, Talus will include up to 1,735 single- and multifamily homes or apartments, 800,000 sf of commercial space and 50,000 sf of retail space. Talus multifamily properties are represented by Greg Laycock of Cushman& Wakefield. Commercial properties are represented by Bill Pollard of Pacific Real Estate Partners and John Black of The Broderick Group.
