The new, 20-acre project is called "The Greens of Las Vegas," and is being designed by the Dye Design Group, known for creating some of the most famous and most difficult golf courses in the world.

The Greens, which will be a mile from the southern part of the Las Vegas Strip near the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, will be modeled after famous courses around the world.

The facility will include 24 putting greens inspired by greens such as Atlanta's Augusta National Golf Course and Britain's Turnberry, St. Andrews and Royal Dornoch, as well as the Ocean Course in Kiawah Island, S.C. and Harbour Town at Hilton Head, S.C. The developer says each green will be built to its true size and settings, including water features, mounding and sand traps. To ease the Las Vegas heat, all courses will have "misting stations" for cooling off.
