Stirek Brings Otis Back to TCC as VP of Development

PORTLAND-After a year with another firm, Dirk Otis has returned to Trammell Crow Co. as VP of development management, replacing Jeff Sackett, who left to join Chris Nelson, TC’s former managing director. Nelson left in July to start his own development company.

A 17-year veteran of the industry, Otis has been with Robert Evans Co. for the past year, drumming up build-to-suit tenants. In his new position at TCC, Otis is responsible for the generation and implementation of all commercial development opportunities in and around Portland.

Otis tells GlobeSt.com that he decided to return after taking a call from longtime friend John Stirek, the COO of Trammell Crow’s Global Services Group, who is overseeing the Portland office while he seeks a replacement for Nelson. “John called me and we discussed a situation where client-wise and workload-wise they needed someone who had prior knowledge of the operation, and I have it because I was working on many of these deals when I left,” Otis tells GlobeSt.com. “Things were amicable when I left and John and I go way back–to grade school–so we have a good trusting relationship and I’m happy to come back with new energy and take it on.”
