A consortium comprising developer Broadhall Hampton, housebuilder Barratt and AWG Development have bought 600 acres at Llanwern, near Newport in Wales. They plan to convert the site into light industrial units, offices, homes, a primary school, as well as sports and leisure facilities.
Corus said it could take up to three years to clear the site, with redevelopment starting in the new year.
