WH Smith Plans to Open 120 New Stores

LONDON-National retailer WH Smith plans to open 120 new stores in the UK to compensate for losses in America.

The company plans to open 120 new stores within the next three years in a bid to recoup losses in its American operations.

WH SMith has 363 stores in the States and 174 in airports. But these have been heavily hit by a fall in tourism and the company has already closed 26 outlets.

Management has not ruled out further closures in America.
