Scheduled for groundbreaking in mid-2003, the project will significantly enlarge the resort's spa and salon and create 935 additional rooms. The built-out spa tower will also boast 60,000 sf of meeting space, 5,000 sf of retail space and a new restaurant. Slated to rise on the south side of Bellagio's main pool and courtyard, the new tower will have direct access to the newly expanded spa and salon. Completion is set for December 2004.
The new addition will provide guests with an "unrivaled level of privacy, service and business connectivity right in the heart of the world's greatest playground," according to Robert Baldwin, president and CEO of Mirage Resorts. Access to the new rooms will be provided via private elevators, ensuring a high level of privacy for the guests. And each room and suite will feature high-speed fiber optic cabling for business needs.
Built in 1998, the 3,005-room Bellagio resort features an eight-acre lake, a casino, an art gallery, various upscale shops, gardens and a five-diamond restaurant.
