LAS VEGAS, CA-Mirage Resorts unveiled plans earlier this week to expand its toney Bellagio resort in Las Vegas. The project, which will involve the addition of a new spa tower, is expected to cost $375 million.

Scheduled for groundbreaking in mid-2003, the project will significantly enlarge the resort’s spa and salon and create 935 additional rooms. The built-out spa tower will also boast 60,000 sf of meeting space, 5,000 sf of retail space and a new restaurant. Slated to rise on the south side of Bellagio’s main pool and courtyard, the new tower will have direct access to the newly expanded spa and salon. Completion is set for December 2004.
