For the first six months of this year, GHP Office Realty recorded 89,383 sf in new leases and renewals, according to Andrew Greenspan, managing partner of GHP Office Realty, which is headquartered in White Plains.

"Leasing activity at our properties in the tri-state area has been brisk," Greenspan stated. The company's office portfolio is currently 96% leased.

"Westchester seems to be the hot market right now. I think there's hope for Westchester County. There are a number of companies experiencing steady growth and hiring people," added GHP Principal James J. Houlihan.

Some of the more significant deals at GHP properties included Trans Credit America's lease renewal and expansion deal that brought the firm's total occupancy to 22,014 sf of space at GHP's 145 Huguenot St. property in downtown New Rochelle. GHP Office Realty recently announced that an affiliate of the firm had acquired the 300,000-sf office building. While the company did not reveal a purchase price for the property, GHP Office Realty recently secured a $14-million first mortgage on 145 Huguenot St.

Another significant transaction took place at the company's 1221 Post Road East property in Westport, CT, where Kaye Insurance Group inked a lease renewal for 10,370 sf of space. Newmark & Company Real Estate Inc. represented the property, casualty and personal claims insurance firm in the lease deal.

GHP Office Realty, which was formed in November 1999, currently owns, manages and leases approximately two million sf of space from Bergen County, NJ, through the northern New York counties of Westchester and Rockland, and east to Nassau County and to Fairfield County, CT.
