Hilton Weighs Up Plans for Super-Casinos

LONDON-Hotel and betting chain Hilton Group has set up a division to look at developing Atlantic City-style casinos in the UK.

The initiative at comes just 18 months after Hilton sold its casino business to Gala for £240 million.

Now the company is looking at developing casinos offering live entertainment in addition to gaming in Blackpool and Brighton. Hilton would be able to draw on the gaming experience of its Ladbrokes operation, which runs a chain of betting shops and online gaming.

The catalyst for the plans is government moves to deregulate gaming and allow more casinos aimed at a mainstream market.
