Located in the International Business Park adjacent to the company's current 85,000-sf building, the new facility went under construction less than a year ago. Local and state officials offered incentives when Alfa made the decision to expand on its current site as opposed to relocating.

Alfa originally relocated the plant to the current Richmond area location from Kenosha, WI back in 1990. The Governor's Opportunity Fund provided $100,000 for site preparation and the Virginia Department of Business Assistance has signed on to provide workforce training services.

"Our positive development over the past 11 years, coupled with the experienced infrastructure of our existing Richmond manufacturing operations, makes this a logical and synergistic move for our USA produced valves and pumps manufacturing," Alfa president and CEO Kirk E. Spitzer said upon announcing the expansion last year.
