Encyclopedia Brittanica Renews for 115,000 SF

CHICAGO-The renewal and expansion leads a flurry of smaller office deals at the Britannica Centre at 310 S. Michigan Ave. as well as other submarkets in the Central Business District.

CHICAGO-Encyclopedia Britannica, Inc. has renewed its 100,000-sf lease at Britannica Centre and is taking another 15,077 sf at the building at 310 S. Michigan Ave. Auto Driveway Co. (9,016 sf), Okrent Associates (2,320 sf) and Perkins, Wolf, McDonnell & Co. (3,741 sf) also have renewed leases at the 37-story neo-Classical property previously known as the Straus Building and Continental National Insurance Co. building.

Meanwhile, Flamm & Teibloom Ltd. is moving to 11,678 sf at 20 N. Clark St., leaving space at 300 W. Washington St., which is about to be redeveloped, when tenant improvements are completed next month. HSA Commercial Real Estate senior associate Brad Black found 100 relocation candidates for the law firm before settling on the 36-story building steps from the county and federal courthouses.
