The firm, a division of the New York City-based American International Group Insurance Co., will occupy the 18th and 19th floors of the 20-story building, located at 2929 N. Central Ave. at the corner of Thomas and Central.

Insignia/ESG senior managing director Keith Lambeth tells GlobeSt.com that the company will be among several high-profile firms located in the building, which currently houses offices for IBM, Microsoft and Harris Trust Bank. "It's probably one of the nicest projects in the Central Business District," Lambeth said of the class A building.

Shorenstein Investments, a San Francisco-based limited partnership, is the building owner. Heiple Real Estate Services represented Shorenstein's interests while Lambeth and managing director Charles Miscio and associate Todd Noel, negotiated the lease for the tenant.

The company is a division of AIG, one of the world's leading international insurance and financial services organization and the largest underwriter of commercial and industrial insurance in the United States. The parent firm, the second-largest life insurer in the country, is ranked 12th on the Fortune 500 list of America's top companies. It was unclear how many new jobs would be created by the move.
