PHOENIX-National Union Fire Insurance Co. of Pittsburgh has signed a long-term lease for 30,000 sf of office space in Central Avenue’s Phoenix Plaza in a move that is expected to bring more jobs to the city’s central business corridor.

The firm, a division of the New York City-based American International Group Insurance Co., will occupy the 18th and 19th floors of the 20-story building, located at 2929 N. Central Ave. at the corner of Thomas and Central.

Insignia/ESG senior managing director Keith Lambeth tells GlobeSt.com that the company will be among several high-profile firms located in the building, which currently houses offices for IBM, Microsoft and Harris Trust Bank. “It’s probably one of the nicest projects in the Central Business District,” Lambeth said of the class A building.
