Brothers Martin, Matthew and Maurice Bucksbaum developed Iowa's first shopping center, Town and Country, in 1954. The company's headquarters was in Des Moines until 1995.
Jordan Creek Town Center is expected to open in August 2004. Besides a two-level enclosed mall, the development includes a 3.5-acre lake with a hotel and restaurants.
"Jordan Creek Town Center will be a premiere entertainment destination for the state of Iowa and remains consistent with General Growth's philosophy of providing customers what they want, when they want it and where they want it," says vice president of development Ron DenAdel in a statement.
