Created by JPI, one of the country's largest luxury apartment companies, Jefferson at Talus includes apartments, townhomes, a clubhouse and several neighborhood amenities. These include a 24-hour fitness center, a resort-style swimming pool with spa and gas grills, monthly cooking classes in Jefferson at Talus' "teaching" kitchen, an 18-seat, high-tech media theater, a gourmet coffee bar, and on-site dry cleaning with pickup and delivery service, among other amenities.
Jefferson at Talus is situated on a 10-acre lot next to the preserved Talus open space, 400 acres of forestland and trails Talus dedicated this summer to the City of Issaquah. The clubhouse and several townhomes are already built, while Jefferson at Talus' first garden-style apartment buildings will be completed by late October. The neighborhood will be finished next June.
"Excitement is flowing throughout the entire staff with the emotional response from our first residents who have connected with the serenity of the area and the resort-style living," says Linda Reoh, Jefferson at Talus community manager. She adds that activity has been brisk at Jefferson at Talus' leasing center, currently located on site and open every day for individual property tours.
While Jefferson at Talus residents get used to their new surroundings, other new Talus neighborhoods have already begun to prepare for their first occupants next spring. Construction crews have poured foundations at two single-family Talus neighborhoods. Builders are now framing the first furnished model homes, due for completion in February.
TreAris at Talus, located in Talus' northeast corner, is being built by local companies Conner Homes Company and Lozier at Cougar Mtn., LLC. It features a wide range of detached-home styles, including Craftsman, Northwest Mountain chalet, 2-story walk-out daylight basement and tuck-under.
Ascent at Talus, the second of several single-family home neighborhoods to be built at Talus, will complete its first furnished model townhome and information center in January. The first Ascent at Talus homes will be ready for occupancy by spring 2003. The Ascent at Talus neighborhood, when complete, will include a total of 112 townhomes.
Brian Krueger, designated broker for ITW Real Estate, notes, "We are very excited about the initial demand and will be providing more information in October regarding ownership for our charter purchasers." Krueger added that the townhomes, which will average about 1,500 sf in size, currently offer residents the "most affordable opportunity to live at Talus."
Talus, positioned at the gateway to the Issaquah Alps, is characterized by its urban proximity and instant access to 20,000 acres of publicly protected trails, wildlands and outdoor recreation areas throughout Cougar Mountain Regional Wildland Park, Squak Mountain State Park and Tiger Mountain State Forest. Talus is entitled for up to 1,735 single- and multifamily homes or apartments, 800,000 sf of commercial space and 50,000 sf of retail space.
