Maguire's responsibilities include creating and implementing an overall marketing strategy to attract and retain group destination visitors and steer future growth of the resort. Additionally, she will be a member of the Schweitzer executive director planning team.

Maguire previously held the position of director of sales and marketing for Big Mountain Resort in Whitefish, Mont. There, she oversaw all aspects of advertising, collateral/branding, promotions, public relations, Web site development, group sales, special events and guest entertainment.

More recently, Maguire worked with the mountain's executive planning team which re-designed and initiated the new 10-year master plan for Big Mountain, which will include additional single family homes, condominium projects, food and beverage, retail shops and a conference center.

Maguire comes at a time when the Seattle-based Harbor Resorts has begun a 10-year village development plan. The initiatives that have been completed include the revitalization of 82-unit, European-style Selkirk Lodge and the construction of the new White Pine Lodge. The White Pine is a ski-in, ski-out facility offering guests the combination of slope-side accommodations and convenient access to Schweitzer's shops, restaurants and 2,500-acres of skiable terrain.

The 75,000-sf White Pine Lodge opened in August. Schweitzer has also made strategic improvements aimed at enhancing the overall guest experience. Two new groomers have been purchased over the summer and the Chimney Rock Grill, located in the Selkirk Lodge, is undergoing a complete renovation, which will be completed in November.

"Sales and marketing are integral to successfully implementing the continued development of the resort. Hiring the right person to lead this strategy was the first step," says Tom Fortune, Schweitzer's general manager.
