New 144,000 SF Nordstrom Opens

DULLES, VA-Loudoun County’s 1.4 million-sf shopping mall Dulles Town Center has opened the doors of its fifth anchor store with the recent debut of a new 144,000-sf Nordstrom fashion retail store. Mall developer Lerner Enterprises, which co-owns the property along with Connecticut General Life Insurance Company, first announced Nordstrom’s commitment to opening in the center two years ago. The cost for opening the new outlet has not been disclosed.

“Dulles Town Center is working to make additional shopping choices available to our Northern Virginian clientele,” says William Winterburn, director of retail leasing for Lerner. The new Nordstrom store occupies a two-story space in a newly built portion of the mall, and is the latest in the shopping center’s list of retailers which include 125 specialty shops and anchor destinations Hecht’s, Lord & Taylor, JCPenney and Sears. Located just minutes from Dulles International Airport at 21100 Dulles Town Circle, Dulles Town Center opened just three years ago, and distinguishes itself as the county’s only enclosed shopping mall.
